WHAT WE STAND FOR
OUR CORE VALUES: HOW WE CAN WAKE UP AND STOP GENOCIDE
After the Holocaust, the world made the promise to "Never Again" allow genocide to occur. Unfortunately, genocide, the deliberate killing of a large group of people due to ethnicity or race, is still happening around the world. The key ingredient to genocide is hate. Our core values encompassed in the call to “WAKE UP” consist of 6 actions we need to take to stop the spread of hate.
We can be witnesses by hearing, reading, and sharing survivor and rescuer accounts of what happened.
ACT WITH TACT
Treating others with Acceptance, Compassion and Tolerance. This is our motto! Click above to learn more about how we incorporate this into our education.
Learn the facts about the Holocaust. Today there are people called ‘Holocaust Deniers’ who try to persuade people that the Holocaust didn’t happen, or happened on a much smaller scale so they can continue to preach their breed of hate. However, plenty of hard evidence exists to the truth. Knowing this truth helps combat hate and intolerance.
To empathize means putting yourself in the shoes of those being mistreated. Understanding what others are going through helps you make the right moral choices. "Empathy is about standing in someone else's shoes, feeling with his or her heart, seeing with his or her eyes." - Daniel Pink
An upstander stands up against injustice and intolerance. Don’t stand idly by when injustice is being done. “The world will not be destroyed by those who do evil, but by those who watch and don’t do anything.” – Albert Einstein
